The Eurosurf Bundoran 2011 Party is ready to rumble.
Gigs, movies and themed nights are what it’s all about for the 10 days of Eurosurf. You will not be stuck for something to do.
While the surfing takes centre stage for 10 days the nights and weekends will be filled with a series of guerrilla gigs. Most of these will have no admission charge. For the gigs that are charged in, you won’t pay more than €10 and tickets can only be bought at the door so get there early. We have some brilliant acts including:

The Eurosurf Party kicks off on Friday 23rd with the celebrated trad fusion outfit, Kíla.
Hollywood discovers Bundoran for Eurosurf 2011 with the Gala Premiere of Soul Surfer. This movie release from Disney tells the story of Bethany Hamilton, the Hawaiian surfer who lost her left arm in a shark attack only to recover and become a professional surfer. Disney have delayed the release of Soul Surfer in these territories to coincide with the start of Eurosurf 2011. In a strange quirk of fate it has transpired that Bethany had visited Bundoran about five years ago as she can trace her lineage back to the Hamiltons of Bundoran. We are thrilled to announce that Bethany Hamilton herself will attend the Gala Premiere and provide a short Q & A subsequent to the screening. This event is Red Carpet and by invitation only but public screenings of Soul Surfer will take place from Saturday 24th September and throughout Eurosurf 2011.
The Teams will be arriving in Bundoran from Wednesday 21st September. Registration takes place on Friday 23rd and the Parade of Nations on Saturday 24th starts official proceedings: the national teams and team officals will parade with dancers and bands winding up overlooking Bundoran’s world famous “Peak”. Sands and seawater from each of the team nations will be mingled for perpetuity in a symbol of unity and fair play. Bundoran has taken this event to its heart. The hotels, bars and restaurants of the town have appointed themselves as Ambassadors to the teams with national decorations, menu options and themed nights taking place all through the event.
Bethany Hamilton will not be the only film glamour to grace Bundoran during Eurosurf 2011. Local surfing legend and Irish Team member, Richie Fitzgerald, was the co-star of Waveriders which will be shown during Eurosurf 2011. French team member, Antoine Delpero, is one of the featured surfers in Walls of Perception from Oxbow films. Antoine will make a personal appearance at the screening during Eurosurf 2011 and you can expect some freebies and goodies from Oxbow. All films mentioned showing at Eclipse Cinema, Bundoran during 24th – 30th Sept.
